1)I feel that blogging has definitely contributed to my own personal growth as a writer. I have never blogged before and it is a fun thing. I like that you can write about whatever you like, it's almost like an online journal, except you can receive feedback from people from all over! It is great to try things new because you never know what you can get out of it.
2) In ways I think writing in the blogsphere has developed a new voice for myself as a writer. I don't usually write about politics, media, social issues, and things similar to this very often so it is nice to have my voice being heard.I think yes is has shaped a new writing style/form different from the way I write in other spaces. I think it is fun to write about things and have them be able to be read by people other than teachers and peers. Sometimes teachers have different opinions on things and it's always good to get advice.
3) I think I will continue blogging after this unit ends because I really enjoy doing it. It's very different and a good experience for any type of writer. The only thing that may hold me back is time, and hopefully that won't be too much of an issue.
..........................................................................................................................................................................
1) People can foster new types of relationships with other people in society because blogging is public, it is for the eyes of anyone who is interested. People from all over write about anything. You can find a blog on almost anything.
2) With other classmates yes, but no one else. I have mentioned blogging to a few friends just that I had one and it was pretty fun.
3) No, not yet atleast. Though I have not done much searching around in the blogsphere, I do plan on it. Most contact on my blog has been thorugh other class mates.
..........................................................................................................................................................................
1) The role of media in society is basically the source of all gossip and news. Media plays a huge role in society and it impacts many of our lives every day.
2) Blogging is very different from the way other media forms are shaped in our society because everyones voice can be heard. In media things are always biased and well on blogging though some may be biased not all of it is. I think it does and sometimes wish people would read blogs rather than watch the news or listen to the radio.
3) Yes I am more aware now of other people's opinions on some issues, and am a lot more aware of issues I have never heard of because the media chooses not to use it. Now I would rather read a blog with both sides of a story than watch the news and only get one.
4) Do you think there are limitations in blogging as a form of media Yes, I do. I think because not as many people read blogs or even know about blogging it limits it because more people watch the news or listen to the radio than they do read blogs or blog themselves.

Because I am__, you should vote for me.
Okay, I think everyone knows a little bit of something about the 2008 candidates. What bothers me is that most people are not even paying attention to their arguments and what they stand for, everyone is practically basing their whole decision on gender, race etc. This is really bothering me because race and gender should have nothing to do with the outcome of this presidential race! Why is it that America is so biased on things that have nothing to do with how this country will be run, and if people really think these things, they are seriously senile! This just shows how racist, sexist, and who knows what else the people in our country are.
This really angers me especially since I have no say in the outcome of this election, and believe me I don't. Adults always go around saying "Even though you are young, you can still change someones vote" well they are wrong. Everyone my age who even slightly cares about politics knows that no one is going to listen them. I personally do not even care about politics, and mostly because I have no affect on who other people in America will elect. I don't like being forced to care about politics. I will care when I can vote, when I can have a say in what is going to happen.
Having no say does bug me at times, but I've pretty much gotten over it. Though I don't understand why "free speech" and "all people are equal" doesn't refer to children. Why is that? I mean we are people. Yes, even though adults may not think so, we are. At one time they were children too, and I always wonder. Did they ever wonder why they weren't able to vote?

Betraying Our Equine Ally
Throughout history horses have served humans, whether it be carrying us on their back, tilling our fields, drawing wagons and carriages, or enriching our lives as friends and companions.
In the United States, horses have never been raised for human consumption, so why is it that American horses are being killed to satisfy the palates of oversea diners in countries such as Italy, France, Belgium and Japan?
This issue is going unheard and this is a very serious issue. It seems like no one is willing to speak up about it because they are afraid of the consequences. Warren Smith, operations manager of a Canadian horse slaughterhouse, was quoted in the Edmonton Journal (3/10/01): “Talking about horses is kind of a scary thing, especially in the West, where people think it’s more of a pet than protein. When anybody starts writing about horses, everybody gets up in arms. Every time we say anything about a horse in the paper, there’s always an uproar, so I don’t want to talk about it.” He is willing to do these things to horses but doesn't have the guts to speak to people about it. Sounds to me like he has no argument for his actions.
Horses all over are being sent to auctions and slaughterhouses because they are just an object to some people. Well they need a wake up call because horses are living and breathing animals just like us! In fact if it were not for them, people wouldn't have half of the things we have today. We probably wouldn't even exist.Thousands of horses are being slaughter each year. Tis is not humane euthanasia!
Horses that go to slaughter are not generally old, sick, crippled, or dangerous. By the slaughter houses' own records (Dallas Crown and Beltex in Texas) only 10% of horses killed are old, sick, injured, or otherwise "unusable". There are many organiztions such as AC4H and Last Chance Corral that go to these auctions and rescue and rehabilitate horses. I myself own a horse who was sent to slaughter and rescued by AC4H. She was only 3 years of age when sent to slaughter and wass a race horse. At racetracks there are pools for the horses to exercise in. My horse was swimming in one of these pools and it had to many chemicals and burned her. The owners at that time did not want to take the time for her to heal and she was sent to an auction. She was a good race horse she raced only a few times and had already won over $10,000. Her burns are now all healed and she is a fantastic horse! So many horses sent to slaughter can be great horses, but people just don't want to take the time.
It's time for some change. If People in Belgium and France want to satisfy their palates with horses then they can breed, raise, and slaughter their own. In general I think horses should never be slaughtered, but people in other countries think pigs or cows should not be slaughtered and we do that. So if we do not make them slaughter their pigs for our needs we should not slaughter our horses for countries like France and China. It's that simple people! Horses are an American icon, they should be respected. You don't see people going around slaughtering Eagles. Eagles never did anything for this country, I think an animal that has done so much for our country should be protected!

Young and Hostile but Not Stupid
Inspiration: Anthem Part Two--Blink 182
Listen to it.
It seems like everyone has come to the conclusion that America has already gone down under and it may have. So why aren't we doing anything? I really don't have an answer, but it seems like asking is all anyones doing nowadays. How about, instead of asking why, ask how. How can you change it? Because really who cares why it's happening. Wondering why is never going to get you or any of us anywhere.
I don't know about you but I'm fourteen(well actually fifteen, today is my birthday) and I am seriously concerned about my future. I mean, why should the adults get to choose everything? They aren't the ones who are going to have to deal with the consequences of their actions. So really they could screw all of us and well it wouldn't effect them at all. It seems pretty rediculous if you ask me. Now Im not saying children should be in government, which maybe they should at this point it would probably be better, or that we should rule the country, but at least give us some say in what it is going to be like for us in the future. It seems as though no one is being heard, and this really kind of relates to my previous topic. Why don't children get any recognition? Who decided that children can't make a good decision? Maybe the reason why children are somewhat immature is because they know that even if they were mature no one would care anyways. This is serious.

Are you listening?
Ever get the feeling that you are talking to a wall? Like everything your saying is going through a persons ear and out the other? Like anything and everything you say is just dust in the wind? Yeah, I figured.
Okay so I own a horse. Horses are quite expensive, and I know because I never hear the end of it. My parents always tell me how expensive she is and how lucky♣ I am. I really want to compete but horse shows are hundreds of dollars each and well that's a lot. It's just that is my life really. It is one of the only things important to me, it's my future. They just keep telling me "not everyone gets what they want" and that I have a lot more than other people have. Yeah I know, I get it and I thank them and appreciate it greatly, but the thing that bugs me is that they don't take the time to listen to me. I know this may sound selfish but there are a lot of people who have a lot more than I do too, and some of them I feel do not deserve it. It just seems that everything I say to them is a speck of dust it has no meaning.
Okay, okay I admit sometimes I don't listen to some of the things they say, and not everything I say is left unheard. It just seems like too often things I'm saying just aren't being appreciated. I understand I'm lucky and not everyone owns a horse.(duh) I get it, I'm not dumb. Seriously, how many times do they think it takes for me to know what their saying. I should be the one telling them things repeatedly.
This seems extremely common in society. In schools, on the news! All over, I mean come on people are we that selfish. Can't we just listen to people. Our news is so biased it's sick. Why can't they just tell people both sides of the story, let them decide for themselves what they think is right. In schools most teachers don't even let the students speak. Why is it so wrong if we have opinions too?
